As staining can be done at any time against the glass, variants are possible. Our standard colors reflect only those known to have been applyed by the manufacturer.

Note that cups produced by Indiana Glass (IG] under the Colony Crown pattern had a flat foot, whereas those produced by IG for the Kings Crown pattern had a slight indentation on the side and a circular divot on the bottom. When stained red, Colony Crown had a distinct carnival/shimmering rich red, whereas IG's Kings Crown had a no shimmer and tended to have a slight purple tone.
